Many Streams, One River (Volume 2)

Violinist Phil Setzer, a founder of the Emerson String Quartet and widely regarded as one of the foremost chamber musicians of his generation, asked me to write a collection of short pieces for violin and piano.

Knowing that Phil—like me—graduated from high school in 1969, I imagined Storms Will Come as if it were an LP from that year. Although none of the eight tracks is directly derived from any song of the era, each one is rooted in the emotional memory of those long-ago days.

Storms Will Come opens Volume 2 of Many Streams, One River.
